By day hiker from oklahoma on 11/28/2008 Pros: Durable, Lightweight, Multi-Use Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I love Keen shoes but these are just a little too tight. Rec that you get the next size up from what you usually wear
By Hiker chick from Cambridge, MA on 09/01/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Non-slip sole, Water Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Cold weather, Day hikes, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Just wore the new pair of these on a rocky 9 mile Franconia ridge hike. Comfy right out of the box. Good traction, great waterproofness. I did notice that the sole is more flexible than the current Keen Voyageur/ Truckee/ Targhee hiker models. That can be nice when you really need to bend your foot well or feel the ground, but my foot also tended to twist around in the footbox more, which aggravated a 3rd/ 4th toe rubbing issue I often have. It's a foot problem not the shoe's fault, but I didn't have it with the Voyageur b/c of its torsional stability. On the plus side, these were watertight as we trekked through streams and muddy territory, and softer than the Voyageur model. Great boot, just pick the optimal features for your use and preference.

By JMP from Hoquiam, WA on 08/19/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, great arch support, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Day hikes, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These shoes are comfortable out of the box. They are especially good for feet with high arches. I had ordered a 7 1/2 (which is the size I normally wear) and they were too short. But the 8's fit perfect.
By Marleepete from St. Paul, MN on 08/14/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Non-slip sole, Water Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I love these shoes! They are attractive and functional. I needed waterproof hikers that have an ample footbed for comfort on a longer hike, and these fit the bill. I highly recommend these hiking boots!
Just what the feet needed. Excellent value.
Excellent casual hiking shoes By BBMagpie from central Oregon on 08/06/2008 Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Finally, a women's hiking shoe that's wide enough, and still hugs the mid-foot and heel. Keen's sandals are wide and stable, and I am glad that their shoes are also. I like to be able to kneel or squat without my toes going to sleep. The first pair was short, so I recommend getting a half-size larger in this shoe than one usually gets.
Another well made Keen product By Island girl from Ventura, CA on 08/06/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Like the sturdy feel of this shoe, great for light to moderate hiking, seems a bit short compared to Keen's i have in the same size. Nice for those with wide feet.
By luvs comfy from New Jersey on 08/04/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Waterproof Best Uses: Day hikes, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: This is the first Keen disappointment for me. Keens have always been comfortable for me - until tis pair. They must have forgotten to mark them seconds in this site. The shoe lasts are left and right but the vamps are made for the right foot thus making them look asymmetrical and feel uncomfortable. If they were inspected more carefully they would not have passed quality control.
By Hiker chick from Cambridge, MA on 08/03/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Non-slip sole, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Cold weather, Day hikes, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Wow, these are great boots. I wanted a waterproof pair for later season backpacking/ hiking or around water, similar to the Keen Voyageur I already have. I did have to exchange up a half size from my other pair, so I'd say these run just slightly small in the length. (FYI, I have a wider, "high volume foot" except for a narrow heel, so fit adjustability is important to me. As a sidenote, I do not like the newer Targhee models because I am less able to snug up the heels/ankle and get toe-bump.)
While the Voyageurs I have seem more breathable for summer wear (they're side-vented and aren't waterproof), I'm sure I'll be reaching for the Newports come fall, wet weather, or boggy trails. Really high quality, can't say enough. Haven't hit the trail in them yet, but the fit is fabulous so far.
